Sheila Pierce Cobb died Friday, February 17, 2006 in the presence of God, her loving daughters, her son's in law, her daughter in law, nine grandchildren, her sister and brother, her care givers and friends after a long illness at Memorial Health University Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Savannah, born August 5, 1919, she graduated from Sacred Heart School, Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, GA., and attended Armstrong Junior College (Armstrong Atlantic State University). She was employed by Steel Products, the Chatham County Tag Office and was retired from the Central Georgia Railroad. As a young woman she was one of the first counselors at Camp Villa Marie and an active member of the CYPA, Catholic Young Peoples Association. She was a member of the Central of Georgia Women's Club, the Daughters of Ireland and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 36. She is survived by three daughters, Mary W. Forbes (John J, Jr.), Patricia W. Remion (Michael C.), Kathleen W. Deal (Purvis), two-step-children, Carolyn Cobb Highsmith and Wesley E. Cobb, Jr. (Susie), 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her sister, Ann P. Pierce, brother, John A. Pierce, sister in law, Martha R. Pierce, a nephew, George A. Pierce and several cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Remembrances to St. Mary's Home, Benedictine Military School, St. Vincent's Academy or Hospice Savannah. Savannah Morning News February 19, 2006
