MISSOULA - Roy Alfred Wilhelm, 68, of Missoula, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle from injuries sustained in an airplane accident.
He was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Mary and Percy Wilhelm. Roy enlisted in the U.S. Army and was in the 82nd Airborne until his honorable discharge in 1962. Roy spent many years in the logging industry and in road construction. He was the superintendent of vehicles for the City of Missoula for over 20 years, and spent time as a farmer as well. Roy enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, flying and dancing. His love was for flying, and then to relax dancing.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife "Scottie" and two children, Lenny, age 2, and Kathy, an infant.
