Donna was called home on Sunday morning, Aug. 3, 2014. She is no longer suffering or in any pain as she has been restored to perfection.
Donna was born in Boise, Idaho, to Donald and Mary Shopp. Shortly after her birth, she was joined by her brother James. Her family moved from Boise to Medford, Ore., and that is where she met her husband, Robert.
In 1956 they moved from Medford, Ore. to Fairfield, as Robert's civil services was at Travis Air Force Base. Donna went to work for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District in 1961 and retired in 1991. After retirement, she became interested in genealogy. She was able to trace her family back to England, Ireland and Scotland. She even had the pleasure of talking with some of the members of her family that she never had the opportunity to know. She has left numerous photos and articles behind. Donna and Bob purchased their home in 1957 and both lived there until their deaths.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri (John) Canova; granddaughter, Amy (Patrick) Clancy; great-granddaughter, Madison Kaetlyn Clancy; loving care giver, Laisa Laveti; sister-in-law, Betty (Ray) Walker in Oregon; several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and nephew, James Michael Shopp.
As per her request, there will be no formal funeral services.
A public viewing is scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at Bryan Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, with graveside services at 11 a.m. at the Rockville Cemetery. She will be laid to rest next to Robert.
Mom, I know that you have been received by Jesus and are now at peace. I also hope that you are getting to know everyone that came before, and finding out that they are just as fascinating as you had hoped.
