VAUGHN, Bessie Age 92 of Fairfield Twp. passed away in Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 8:15AM. She was born in Berea, Kentucky on February 28, 1913, the daughter of Joseph A. and Nannie E. (McQueen) VanWinkle. In Germantown, she was married to Lenox "Hacker" Vaughn and he preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Vaughn committed her life to Christ and lived as a devoted Christian since 1933. She has been a member of the Highway of Holiness Church and the Hamilton Christian Center. For many years, Mrs. Vaughn led Women's Prayer Meetings and exemplified the Virtuous Woman as described in Proverbs Chapter 31. She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine (Harry) Jarvis of Hamilton and Marcella (Vernon) Baldwin of Fairfield; two sons, Harold (Lillian) Vaughn of Cincinnati and James (Diana) Vaughn of Richmond, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Pamela Jarvis, Connie (Sameh) Sadik, Melissa (Curtis) Jackson, Darrell (Sheila) Vaughn, Susan (Chris) Theiss, Brian (Sherry) Vaughn, Michael (Misty) Vaughn and Crystalynn Vaughn, also ten great grandchildren, Courtney Jackson, Josh Vaughn, Clint Vaughn, Chase Jackson, Chad Theiss, Makenzie Theiss, Gabrielle Theiss, Mercedes Vaughn, Alec Vaughn and Erin Vaughn and also by a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Sydney, Tommy, Willie, Joseph, Lonnie and Jason VanWinkle; also by seven sisters, Myrtle VanWinkle, Ella Mae Farthing, Lula Frederick, Gracie VanWinkle, Maudie Logsdon, Lydia Eggleston and Stella Viola Garrett. Funeral services will be held at the Hamilton Christian Center, 1940 Millville Ave. on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 11AM with Pastor Johnny Wade Sloan and Rev. Bobby Mills officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Wednesday from 5PM to 8PM. The family requests memorials to Operation Serve International, P.O. Box 18070, Fairfield, Ohio, 45014.
