Marquita Carter and Lynda Lee

A joint funeral service is planned at 2 p.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home for Marquita Lee Carter and her mother, Lynda Lee, both of Paris.

Roger Banks, preacher at Van Dyke Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial for the two will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Mike Deeter, Brian and Canyon Andrews, Dennis Jetton Jr., Darrell Vaughn and John Marrs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Bowden and Will Marrs.

Visitation for the two will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after noon Friday.

Carter, 48, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at her residence. The cause of death was not given.

Lee, 71, died Tuesday Aug. 5, 2014, at her residence.

Lee's husband and Carter's father, Charles Lee, survives. He and Lynda Lee were married on Sept. 4, 1962.

Carter was born Jan. 24, 1966, in Paris.

Lee was born Aug. 23, 1942, in Carroll County, a daughter of the late William David Marrs and Bonnie Cantrell Marrs.

Survivors for the two are Lee's daughter and Carter's sister: Debbie Andrews of Paris; Lee's sons and Carter's brothers: Glenn "Train" (Anna) Lee of Paris and Gary (Brenda) Deeter of Medina; Carter's grandchild and Lee's great-grandchild: Carter Marrs;

Carter also leaves a daughter, Kayla (James) Marrs of Paris, and a son, Shawn Carter of Paris, both of whom are Lee's grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lee also leaves a brother: Joseph Marrs of Paris; six other grandchildren: Kimberly Lee, Gerianne Lee, Mike and Ashley Lynn Deeter, Brian and Jennifer Andrews; five other great-grandchildren: Canyon and Olivia Andrews, Braylon McCartney and Addison and Alyssa Deeter; and several extended family members.

Preceding them in death are Carter's son and Lee's grandson, Justin Carter on May 18, 2012.

Lee also was preceded in death by a sister: Nelda Bevill; and two brothers: William "Billy" Marrs and Jackie Marrs.
