Frances Christine (Melle) Turner was born on July 5, 1848 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of John Herman Melle (1820–1895) and Elizabeth (Unluckey) Melle.

She was married about 1872 to George Walter Turner (1840-1917) and was a much loved and highly esteemed woman and had lived in Nashville all her life.

Fannie was 74 years old and a widow living at 1526 Arthur Avenue, Nashville when she died of pneumonia on November 5, 1922 at home.

Survivors included sons John O’Neil, Walter Turner, Edward Turner and William Turner, daughters Mrs Christine Seigenthaler, Mrs Eva Hargis, Miss Emma Turner of Nashville, Mrs Agnes Phelps of Memphis and Mrs Della Smith of Beech Creek, Kentucky, sisters Miss Louise Melle and Mrs Agnes Brown of Nashville, and her brother Clemons Melle of Nashville.

Funeral Services were held at the Turner home on November 7th, with Requiem High Mass at the Church of the Assumption, followed with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nashville.
