RETURNING BODY OF SGT. LOWELL SMITH The casketed remains of S-Sgt. Lowell Smith, 27, will arrive in Wayne City at 2:13 p.m. Friday at the Southern depot and will be taken to Combs Chapel to remain until the funeral hour. Military services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the Olive Branch Church, with the Rev. Hulbert Perry and the Rev. Lloyd Trotter officiating. Internment will be in the cemetery nearby. S-Sgt. Smith, son of Mrs. Daisy Smith south of Wayne City, was killed January 21, 1945 at Luxembourg. Surviving are his mother; three brothers, Vern and Roman Smith of Chicago and Mike Smith of Youngtown, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Peer of Bell Prairie and Mrs. Ruby Turner of Dahlgren.
