Daniel R. (Danny) McDaniel

Daniel R. (Danny) McDaniel passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at his residence.

He was born October 18, 1939 to Hoyt and Vivian McDaniel of Atlanta, GA. He graduated from West Fulton High School and Greensboro School of Business. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He also enjoyed golf, reading, traveling and rarely missed a Braves game. A music lover, Mr. McDaniel was an accomplished musician and singer.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McDaniel; a grandson, Brandon Scott McDaniel and his "adopted" dad, Horace E. Hembree.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Martin McDaniel; sons, Daniel Eric McDaniel (Terra), John Robert McDaniel (Melanie) and daughters, Edie Denise Streetman (Danny), Angela M. Hale (John) and Theresa Bryson; brothers, Edgar McDaniel and Kenneth McDaniel; sisters, Eleanor Conn, Denise Dunn and his extened family, the Hembrees. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, August 7th at 2:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Nida officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Grandsons who will serve as pallbearers are Trey Layton, Spencer Layton, Griffin Hale, Joe Bryson, Connor McDaniel, Jacob Bruner, David Streetman and Christopher McDaniel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Inagehi, 3162 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta, GA 30062.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr., Cartersville, GA 30120, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
