SHAPTER Kathleen Mary (Andrews) Shapter, 79, passed away February 15, 2003, in Prescott, AZ. Born October 4, 1923, in Long Island, NY, to the late Roger and Agnes Andrews. US Navy veteran, 1943-46. She married George H. Shapter Jr. on July 29, 1947. A 1961 graduate of Ohio State University, she taught for 20 years in Columbus Public Schools at 6th Avenue, Weinland Park and McGuffey schools. Survived by husband, George; sons, Robert, Columbus, Mark (Susi), Prescott, Peter (Rita), Columbus; grandchildren, Benjamin, Manassas, Va., Christina and Amanda, Prescott, Breanna and Miranda, Columbus; brother, Robert J. Andrews, Colorado Springs, Colo. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday followed by a funeral service, at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to Prescott Samaritan Village, 1030 Scott Dr., Prescott, AZ 86301; or Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) Hospice, Restricted Funds, PO Box 26565, Prescott Valley, AZ 86312.
