Funeral services for Ernest L. Watkins, 82, of Dove Creek CO will be held January 28, 1999 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins was born October 20, 1916 in Boyd OK, to Andrew C. and Fannie (Holiday) Watkins. He passed away on Thursday January 21, 1999. On April 18, 1969 he married Geneva "Neva" Flowers in Arriola CO.
Surviving Mr. Watkins are his wife Neva of Dove Creek; sons, Roger Watkins and Bert Watkins both of Dove Creek; daughters, Barbara Morton and Patsy Knuckles both of Dove Creek; eight grandchildren; brothers, Virgel Watkins of Dove Creek and Felton Watkins of Cortez CO; sisters, Tola Trollinger of Hennessey OK, Rosa Cory of Poplar Bluff MO, and Lois Sword of Oklahoma City OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Oscar and Earl Watkins; and two sisters, Bessie and Merna Watkins.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ernest Watkins name with Dove Creek VFW ambulance fund. Services will be conducted by Ertel Funeral Home.
