Former resident of Filley dies
Filley - Edward R. Allen, 75, a former Filley resident, died at his home in Hastings, NE, was born March 11. 1889. at Filley.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Calvin Deardorff, of Hastings, Mrs. Mary Kirby, of Lincoln and Mrs. Marjorie Edwards, Pittsburgh, Pa.,; four sons, Tom of Santa Monica, Calif., John of McCook and Lawrence of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Reddon, Lincoln, and Mrs. Mary Houkon, Vermillin, S. D.; and one brother, John of Beatrice.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice with Msgr. F. G. Mock officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
The rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Butler - Volland Funeral Home at Hastings.
Griffiths - Fox Chapel, Beatrice, is in charge of local arrangements.
