Emma Pollard Ruley married Charles Pollard BRYNAN in 1857. They had 5 children: William Edward, Charles Ruley, Mary Rose (Rowan), Emma V and Howard Ellis.

Her obituary in the Philly Inquirer of May 10, 1890 reads: "On May 7, at Moore's Delaware county, Emma P BRYNAN, wife of Charles P. Brynan and daughter of Margaret and the late John G. Ruley, aged 49 years. Funeral from the residence of her son, Charles R.Brynan, 735 Dudley street. Due notice of which will be given."

Emma's death certificate reads:
"Moores, May 9th 1890. This is to certify that Mrs Emma P. Brynan of Moores, Del Co Penna died on May 7, 1890 of Consumption. Aged 49 years."

Moore's is now called Prospect Park (near Glenolden PA)
