Ralph Loomis
Funeral Sunday
New Virginia -- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in New Virginia for Ralph Loomis, 80-year-old life-long resident of Warren and Clarke Counties, who died last Thursday in a Des Moines hospital.
Rev. Ora Reep, pastor, officiated at the services in the New Virginia Methodist church. Burial was in the Union cemetery in Clarke county.
The son of William (Wilson) and Mary Loomis, he was born January 15, 1883, in Clarke county. He was educated in the Clarke county schools and had farmed most of his life in the Murray and New Virginia areas until his retirement in 1950.
In December 11, 1907 he was united in married with Elsie Bierma at Osceola and they were the parents of four children.
Mr. Loomis is survived by his widow, three sons, Dowe and Loren of New Virginia and Wendel of Big Horn, Wyo; 10 grandchildren; one brother Winfield of Big Horn, and two sisters, Mrs. Iva Little of Murray, and Mrs. Nellie Lovell of Glendo, Wyo. He was preceded in death by a son Floyd.
