Blacksburg, S.C. - Douglas Floyd Pruitt, 48, of 1047 Dravo Road, passed away Saturday, August 2nd, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Nancy Owens Pruitt and the son of Charles Arthur Pruitt and Mable Mullinax Pruitt.

Mr. Pruitt worked as an electrician and was a member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. In addition to these things, he loved playing his guitar and singing.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Pruitt is survived by one son, John Avery, of the home; one daughter, Brooke Brown and husband, Michael, of Shelby; two brothers, Jimmy Pruitt and wife, Amy, of Blacksburg, and Justin Scott Pruitt and wife, Nicole, of Shelby; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Carson, and Dalton Brown.,

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4th, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Allen, Rev. Billy Boone, and Mr. Ashby Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Cook Memorial Gardens. Kaleb Dover, Joe Dean Hamrick, Horace Emory, Mike Pruitt, BJ Mullinax, Eric Pruitt, and Aaron Pruitt will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Douglas Pruitt Burial Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, P.O. Box 428, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
