Charlie Baker, a nephew of Molly's, said that Molly was thrown from a runaway horse and carriage on a dirt road in the hills of Vanndale, Arkansas. The fall broke her neck. He said her daughter, Addie, who was also in the carriage survived because she was wrapped in blankets which cushioned her. After the death of her mother Addie went to live with her grandmother, Nancy Crawford, in Mississippi.

She was the daughter of William Bright CRAWFORD and Nancy Ann WILKERSON. Her family moved from Fulton Co., KY to Benton Co., Mississippi around 1875. Some of the children of William & Nancy Crawford migrated to Vanndale, Cross Co., Arkansas in the 1890's
