Surviving are his wife, Bina Palmer Hood, of the home; three daughters, Cheryl Howell and fiancé, Gene Hoelscher of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Kathy Ritz and husband Ken of Hamilton, Ohio, Carla Graham and husband Jeff of Chesterfield, Virginia; two sons, Ronald Hood and wife Bonnie of Chester, South Carolina, Donald Hood of Fort Mill, South Carolina; step daughter, Tammy Fulp of Banner Elk; two brothers, Robert Hood of Fort Mill, South Carolina, George Hood of Pineville; three sisters, Myrtle Broom, Sara Culp and Mary Rayfield of Fort Mill, South Carolina; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 o'clock Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ken Ritz officiating. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock Monday night. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
