Sarah M. Young Gallup was married to John William Gallup on 5-16-1875 in Putnam County, Mo. Sarah married 2nd Richard N. Billings in 1900. Third Robert S. Albertson in 1911. In that time period women had to keep getting married for support. That is why so many women remarried after their husbands died. Sarah was short and was remembered by her grandchild Frances Boulch. She told the story that when it was so cold that they would crawl into bed and snuggle so they could keep warm. Frances was a very small child.When Sarah Young was born on November 8, 1856, in Wayne County, Iowa, her father, Merritt C. Young, was 34 and her mother, Mary Ann Lyon, was 36. She was married three times and had three sons and eight daughters. She died on January 28, 1917, in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri, at the age of 60 years, 2 months, and 20 days of pneumonia. Wm. Gilmore, M.D., buried January 29, 1917 in Woodlawn Cemetery.
