Mr. Blum, who had been employed at the U. S. Smelting Works, Ideal Stencil Machine Company and Harrison Machine Works, retired six years ago. He served three terms as a member of the City Council under the administration of the late Mayor Fred. J. Kern.
He was born in Belleville on October 18, 1860, and was a son of the late Adam and Margaret Blum, nee Liebig. He married Anna Hoehner on September 30, 1899. Besides his wife, he leaves three children:

Edwin F. Blum, 230 S Pennsylvania Ave
Two grandchildren also survive while two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Blum was a member of Cavalier Lodge No 49, Knights of Pythias.
Funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Gundlach and Co. Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery. The Rev. B. J. Koehler, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate.
