Mr. Bouquet was born in Lemee, France March 18, 1806. He married Marie Rose Boidin in France. They came to America in 1855, landing at New Orleans and settled near Basco, Illinois April 1, 1856. They had arrived in Hancock County, however, the previous fall, having reached Nauvoo, Illinois on the 5th of November, 1855. Mr. Bouquet was a weaver, and they had four children. Ferdinand, the eldest, died at Memphis, Tennessee while on the way to Illinois, January 24, 1855, and was buried there. Mr. and Mrs. Bouquet were members of the Catholic church, of which they were faithful communicants.
