Bruce Shawver Glenn was born June 1, 1940 in Milford, Nebraska, the son of Raymond and Maurine (Shawver) Glenn. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1958. He received a Rolscreen scholarship and attended Central College, graduating in 1962 with a B.A. degree.

He subsequently attended various colleges and universities, including Arizona State University and the Foundation for Economic Study at Irvington, N.Y. He applied his education by teaching in three school districts in Iowa, then in Nebraska, Arizona and California.

He spent several years in the country of Rhodesia, where he taught in an English Boy's School. He made his home in Cheyenne the last 12 years and at the time of his death, was the Community Affairs Director for station KGWNTV. He was also the host of "Town Talk." This was his 12th year at the station. Bruce received many awards from the charities and organizations he promoted.

Bruce loved to raise flowers and took in many stray animals. He also pursued his great interest in government.

Bruce, 52, formerly of Knoxville, died of cancer Aug. 19, 1992 in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Survivors include his parents Raymond and Maurine Glenn of Knoxville; sister Donna Butrum of Melcher-Dallas; and a nephew and two nieces; William Butrum, Angela Clark and Michele Butrum all of Melcher-Dallas.
