Mary E. Simmons, 80, of 1925 W. Ann died at 12:15 a.m. Friday (Feb. 16, 1990) at Methodist Medical Center.
Born Jan. 23, 1910 in Danvers to Frederick and Minnie Frahm, she married Howard Herring on Feb. 9, 1935 in Peoria. He died Oct. 27, 1950, in Peoria. She later married Cecil R. Simmons on Jan. 19, 1965, in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Patsy Terrell, Linda Welcome and Marilyn Stanley, all of Peoria, and Margaret Auten of Hopedale; five sons, Charles Herring of East Peoria, Jerald Herring and Russell Fuller, both of Williamsfield, Richard Herring of Marquette Heights and Robert Herring of Peoria; two sisters, Leila Hill of Spring Bay and Katie Miller of Chicago; 20 grand-children; and two great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, six brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wilton Mortuary. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
