Little is known about Gladys in her youth. She was married to Grover A. Buchan on June 3, 1916 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. In 1920 the couple was living in Solon, Leelanau Co., Michigan. It seems that she was buried in the Clark Family plot. Her husband survived her by 15 years and was buried in the Buchan Family plot in his home of Honor, Benzie Co. Michigan
