Laverne Anderson 91 years, of Van Buren, AR. passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at a local hospital.
She was a retired associate in the fabrics department at Wal Mart; she was a resident of Van Buren since 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Anderson; both her parents, Spurgeon and Minnie (Bell) Pearson.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with Reverend Chris Johnson officiating, with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Simmons and husband Mike of Van Buren, Debbie Martin and husband Steven of Winder, Georgia; four grandchildren Michael Simmons of Centerton, AR, Brandon Simmons of Vilonia, AR, Stephanie Schroeder of Huntley, Illinois and Scott Martin of Winder, Georgia; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Martin, Mike Simmons, Scott Martin, Michael Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Jerry Tumlinson, and Jim Simmons.
