Harrison M. Jones, 83, of Loudonville, died Saturday evening, August 2, in Brethren Care Center, Ashland, after an extended illness. Harrison was born August 25, 1930 in Butler, the son of the late Frank and Minnie (Darling) Jones. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Harrison had lived in the Loudonville area most of his life and was a heavy equipment operator for over 25 years with the Ohio Operating Engineers Union, Local #18, Columbus. Harrison always enjoyed "tearing things apart" especially after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, R. Jean (Spreng) Jones, whom he married April 18, 1954; a son, Michael E. Jones of Loudonville; a daughter, Suzanne "Susie" Jones of Loudonville; a brother, Virgil Jones of Mansfield; and a sister, Flossie Poff of Arlington, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, LaRue, Robert, Harley, Paul, Francis and Ira Jones, and 4 sisters, Charlotte Fry, Zelma Mowery, Rhea Heirsek and Thelma Stewart.

There will be no services at this time with burial in Pioneer Cemetery, Lake Township. The Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville is assisting the Jones family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to Ashland County Cancer Association, 380 East First Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
