Henrietta Thompson, age 92, daughter of the late Ernest and Nancy Norfleet was born in Smithfield, Virginia, on May 1, 1917. She entered her final transition from this earthly place Monday, this 12th day of April 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Henrietta resided in Wilmington, Delaware until August, 2003, when she moved to Tampa with her daughter, Nancy. She came to Wilmington, Delaware at an early age an resided with the Lambert family of Newport, where she received her early education. Henrietta was employed as a housekeeper for various families for many years. Her last employer was Elizabeth Garrigues who became a devoted friend. She took great pride in her work and was meticulous. Henrietta was baptized and gave her life to the Lord in 2001 while residing in Wilmington, Delaware. She joined the New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Tampa, Florida. Henrietta was devoted to her family, always watching over and caring for them. Henrietta is preceded in death by her daughter, Beatrice Manlove; son-in-law, Buford Manlove, and granddaughter, Andrea Manlove. She leaves to cherish her sweet memory, son, Clayton T. Thompson, Jr. (Audrey) of Newark, Delaware; daughter, Nancy Whye, and a very devoted son-in-law, William Whye of Tampa, Florida and sisters, Virginia Marks and Anna Mae French Wilmington. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Elaine Webster, Keith Manlove, Linda Manlove, Echols Manlove, Clayton Thompson, III, Rev. Eunice Harris, Jackie Owens, Delphine Ross, Tamara Claude, Kantria Leach, William Whye, Jr. and devoted granddaughter, Carin Whye, 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren, a devoted great-great granddaughter, Sabrina Marie of Tampa, Florida, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral 11 am, Wednesday, April 21st at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. Gray Avenue. Viewing 9-11 am. Burial Silverbrook Cemetery.
