Margaret Bose Miller is a bit of a mystery. In numerous records her name upon marriage is listed at Bose, Boose, Bouse and even Clouse.
Most likely her name was Bose. A granddaughter very specifically spelled her name as "Bose."

I believe she was the daughter (possibly out-of-wedlock) of Nancy Ritter Gale and therefore the niece of Commella Ritter Miller. Both Nancy Ritter Gale and Commella Ritter Miller are buried at Oak Grove. Warren Mock, who lived nearby and worked on genealogy, wrote that Nancy Ritter was Margaret's mother.

Margaret was the first wife of John E. Miller who is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana. John E. Miller died at the County Farm and was "out of favor" with his family. Margaret is buried next to John E. Miller's 2nd wife, Rebecca Weimer Miller.

When Margaret's son, Frank L. Miller, married Artie Kiser in 1900 he was married at the home of Nancy Ritter Gale's daughter and husband, Elida (Gale) and Samuel Hoffman. The news article names Elida as his aunt. Frank's grandmother, Nancy Ritter Gale, was living with Elida and Sam Hoffman at the time. So, if Margaret was the daughter of Nancy Ritter Gale, she was a 1/2 sister to Elida; thus, Elida was Frank's 1/2 aunt. It appears Frank L. Miller knew the true story of his mother's family and it was not a secret.

Elida Gale Hoffman and her husband, Samuel, are also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Frank L. Miller is buried at Salem Cemetery in Noble Co., Indiana and his sister Amanda Ella Miller Shahan is buried in Ohio.

In the 1880 Census Margaret's 5-year old daughter, Amanda E. Miller, is living with Solomon and Mary Ritter and is listed as their granddaughter. But I believe she was really their great-granddaughter.

Although there are Bouse, Bause and Clouse families in the Noble and Kosciusko Counties Margaret Bose Miller appears to have been born in Ohio. In the 1850 Census in Tuscarawas County Solomon Ritter is only a laborer with 8 children. Nearby is a much more prosperous BOSE family. I think someone in this Bose family may have been Margaret's father.

In 1941 the DAR published a compiled record of this cemetery and they wrote..
