Newport, Aug. 10. -- Jesse Merrill Brookhart, 46, car repairman for the Pennsylvania Railroad, died last Thursday night at his home, Millerstown, R. D.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Stella Adams Brookhart; a son, Merrill, Jr.; two daughters, Jean and Lois, all at home; his step-mother, Mrs. Susan Brookhart, Millerstown, R. D.; four brothers, Miles C., of New Bloomfield, R. D.; William Lindsay, of Millerstown, R. D.; Domer L., of Harrisburg, and James J., of Newport, R. D.; seven sisters, Mrs. Stella Kraft, Newport, R. D.; Miss Erma Brookhart, of Williamsport; Mrs. John Walters, of Enola; Mrs. Wilbur Kauffman, Mrs. David Barnes, and Mrs. Calvin Sarver, of Millerstown, R. D., and Mrs. Jacob Mark, of Carlisle, R. D.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a. m. at the funeral home in Walnut street, with the Rev. T. V. Miller, pastor of the East Newport Church of God, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Ditmer, of the Church of the Brethren. Burial was made in the Newport Cemetery.
