Neal V. Wallace, 84, of Carolina Village, Hendersonville, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at the Carolina Village Medical Center.

He was born in Weehawken, N.J. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war. He was a graduate of Baltimore College of Commerce and Johns Hopkins University. He was employed by Amoco Oil Co. for 36 years and retired as senior systems analyst. He moved to Hendersonville 23 years ago and was a member of the Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rida Miller Wallace of Carolina Village.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Gordon Elliott will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the ALS Association, 120-101 Penmarc Drive, Raleigh, N.C. 27603; the WNC Chapter of American Ex-POWs, VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, N.C. 28805; or Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.
