Letha Mae Brown, age 97, died Saturday, August 2, 2014. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 4, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Hollis Rutherford and Rev. A.G. Stepp will officiate. Interment will be in Littleville Cemetery, Haleyville, AL.
Mrs. Brown was a nurse at Helen Keller Hospital, serving thirty-five years. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Preceding Mrs. Brown in death are her husband, James Garfield Brown; mother, Mary Odesey Thrasher; father, Murphy Moore; sons, James Clifton "J.C." Brown, Kenneth Brown, Bobby Lee Brown; son-in-law, Eldon Dee King; daughter-in-law, Shirley Brown; and brothers, Roy Moore and Belton Moore.
Survivors include daughter, Nina Mae King; daughters-in-law, Lon Brown, Maria Brown, and Ann Brown; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be James King, Roger Brown, Jason Brown, Clayton Moore, Michael Inman, Dale Saint, Buddy Brown, and Bret Gist.
