Mrs. Alice L. Adams, widow of George H. Adams, passed away at her home on South Main street Tuesday, March 10, after an illness of two weeks, at the age of 92 years and eight months. Mrs. Adams was born in West Dover, July 16, 1849, the daughter of Martin and Carolyn Ballad Leonard. She was married November 5, 1868, to George Henry Adams of Marlboro. Six children were born to them, three of whom survive. They are Burton M. Adams of Hartford, Conn.; Mrs. Otis Amidon of Halifax, and Verne L. Adams of Wilmington. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Cora Newell of West Wardsboro; a brother, Merrill D. Leonard of Miami, Fla.; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Adams lived in Dover until their home was destroyed by fire in 1912. At that time they came to Wilmington, where Mrs. Adams has since resided. Mr. Adams died in 1923. Since her husband's death, Mrs. Adams has lived alone, doing her own work until about four years ago when she employed a housekeeper. Mrs. Adams was believed to be the second oldest citizen of Wilmington. Mrs. F.E.
