Nancy Jane was born February 29, 1872, in Fulton County, Indiana, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Worman. January 25, 1899, she was united in marriage to Eldward Elsworth Knowlton. He was born July 5, 1864, in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, son of Jason Franklin Knowlton and Laura Lucinda Shurtleff. He died died in 1947, in Barron, Barron County, Wisconsin, and was buried in Wayside Cemetery in Barron. In the book, The Descendants of William Shurtleff, their wedding date is given as October 10, 1895. Nancy was either a widow or divorced. Their children all born in Wisconsin were:
