Cynthia Josephine McKinney, 57, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha and Daisy Adkins, and her sister Barbara Hill and brother Vernon Star Adkins.
Survivors include her son, Dennie "Blake" Johnson, Jr. and wife Kim of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Gloria Kelly and husband Eric of Clintwood; one brother, Paul Adkins of Joilet, Illinois; four sisters, Janice Ratliff of Grundy, Virginia, Beulah Ratliff of North Carolina, June Church of McClure, Virginia and Denna O'Quinn of Haysi, Virginia; one granddaughter, Stella Blakely Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral Services for Cynthia Josephine McKinney will be conducted at 11:00 AM Weds. June 25, 2014 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Palmer Leftwhich officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tues. evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home.
