Virginia Stringham Howells, age 89, passed away February 1, 1996, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born January 11, 1907, in Bingham, Utah, the daughter of Ammon B. and Mary Gilmore Stringham. She married Griff J. Howells on October 3, 1925, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He preceded her in death November 24, 1964.Virginia worked as a seamstress during World War II. She was a member of the LDS Church, Salt Lake South Gate Ward. She was a very good homemaker and did beautiful handwork.

Survivors include a son and a daughter, Dale G. and Lois Howells of Salt Lake City, Kenneth W. and Joyce Barber of Homeland, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brothers William G. Stringham of Salt Lake, Robert (Bud) Stringham of Bountiful, Frank Stringham of American Fork, Utah; sisters, Madge S. Huffman, Golda S. (Cecil) Anderson, both of Bountiful. Preceded in death by one grandchild, Doug Barber.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary Chapel, 727 North 400 East. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment in the Midvale City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Cancer Society.
