Ralph LeRoy Evans, 82, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 14, 1997.

Born December 8, 1914 in Murray, Utah to Thomas H. and Mary Nelson Evans. He married Helen Janssen on November 7, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ralph graduated from Murray High School and attended the University of Utah. A Veteran of World War II, he served in the 5th Army in North Africa and Italy.

He was employed for 23 years as an electrician at the University of Utah. Active in the LDS Church, he held many callings, including six years as a Jordan River Temple ordinance worker. He loved gardening, books, especially the Scriptures, and his grandchildren.

Survived by children, Dan (Janet) Evans, American Fork; Yvonne (Gordon L.) Minson, West Jordan; Yvette (Michael D.) Knight, Huntsville, Alabama; Susette Evans, Midvale; 22 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Mertlich, Sandy. Preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the East Midvale Fourth Ward Chapel, 87 East 7100 South. Friends and family may call on Friday at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the Church. Interment will be made in Midvale City Cemetery.
