Carlos Inman served in Company B. 32nd New York Infantry in the Civil War.

Carlos was the son of Hiram and Clarissa Inman of Amsterdam, NY., and in the 1860 census of that town Carlos is shown as 18 years old, with his brothers Horace 21, Albert 19, Gilbert 15, Edward 9 and Fran 5, along with his sisters Elizabeth 23, Emma 12, and Helen 5.

Carlos enlisted at the age of 18, at Amsterdam, NY., on April 25, 1861 for two years and was mustered into Company B. 32nd New York Infantry on May 1, 1861.

The regiment took part in the Battles of Bull Run, West Point, VA where they lost 67 men, The Seven Days Battle, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville where the lost 43 men.

Carlos was mustered out with the regiment on June 9, 1863 at New York City.

In the 1870 census of Amsterdam, NY he is listed as 27 born in NY with his wife Mary 24 also born in NY.

He received an Army Invalid Pension beginning on April 17, 1876 and following his death, his wife Mary A. Inman received an Army Widows Pension.

When he died in 1887 he was buried in the Masonic Cemetery, Metropolis, IL.
