Margaret Gaufin Lindsay
"MeMa: Muggsie"

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Margaret Gaufin Lindsay, passed away November 23, 1996, of natural causes.

She was born October 27, 1910, in Murray, Utah, the sixth of seven children born to Carl Ephraim and Rhoda Ann Miller Gaufin. She attended schools in Murray and graduated from the LDS School of Nursing.

Margaret married Dr. A. VanOrman Lindsay in Hailey, Idaho, on September 14, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had three children, Dr. A. Van, Carl Edwin and Mary Margaret.

She lived her adult life in Midvale where she worked as a public health and school nurse for Jordan School Dist. She was active in her community, church and was the first to help anyone in need. She was famous for her family Christmas parties, love of life and sense of humor.

Survived by her daughter, Mary Russell (Dennis); daughter-in-law, Kay Lindsay; grandchildren, Margaret, Mindy, Patrick, Katy, Ryan, Marlo, Lindsay, Megan, Peter, John, McKay, Chris, Christopher; great grandchildren, Van, Lindsay, Malloy; sister, Hope; brother, Mike; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, parents, and four brothers and sisters.

A special thanks to Elderly Manor and Wasatch Valley Rehabilitation for their kind and loving care. Also to Karen, Pat and Angie for their support.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, November 26, 1996, at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, from 6-8 p.m. Private family services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 1996. In lieu of flowers please donate to Community Nursing Service and Hospice, 2970 So. Main St., Suite 300, Salt Lake City, UT 84115-3553.
