Michael David Hickman (December 8, 1946 – July 29, 2014) passed from this life at his home in Columbus, Ohio at age 67. He was surrounded by friends and family. Mike was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and cousin.

He was born in Riverdale, Maryland to the late George and Versa (Lilly) Hickman.

He fought for his country from 1967-70, serving in Vietnam from 1968-69 (SP5 US Army, 135 AHC-USA-RANHFV). He was also a long-time member of the VFW 6065 and the American Legion Post 56 in Lititz, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed listening to and playing music; he was a member of the local band Dead or Alive. He retired from Gardner, Inc. as the Director of Operations in 2013 after 32 years of service. He lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by sons Jason and Patrick (Laura), siblings Karen Allison, Patti Riordan (Don), Terri Maclam (Perry), Sheryl Lee, and Chris Hickman (Alice),and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife Susie Ambrose and brothers Rick Hickman and Doug Hickman.

Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory 2693 W. Broad Street, Columbus, OH Sunday 2-5 pm where service will be held 5:00 P.M Sunday August 3, 2014. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Cemetery at a later date.
