Paul Chryst, 93, of North Adams Street, Pottstown, husband of Nancy M. (Kurtz) Chryst, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Sanatoga Center, Pottstown. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Sinodis Chryst and the late Helen (Gardner) Chryst. He was employed as a Time Study Engineer for Doehler Jarvis, Field Service Manager for Robinson Clay and a European Tour Operator for Berkshire Travel, Reading. Col. Chryst flew as a Bombardier in the 91st BG in England on 35 combat missions during 1944 and earned the DFC, Air Medal with Clusters and other awards. He retired from the Active Reserve in 1969 having served more than 27 years of Federal Service. He also was awarded the French Legion Metal of Honor. Paul was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Paul D. Chryst, Maui, HI, and Carl Chryst, Downingtown; a daughter, Robin Klokis, Pottstown, and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Boeger. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend David Lewis. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories will military honors. There will be a viewing Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to the
