Linda Jeanette Lawson, 66, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center. Linda loved bird watching and eating her husbands cooking. She was a member at Lawsons Memorial and a born again believer in Christ. Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents Claude Sylvester and Dorothy Marie Christian Spivey; one brother Lester Allen Spivey; father-in-law Elmer R. Lawson. She was survived by her husband Gregory Alan Lawson; daughter Monica Bledsoe of Gate City; son Tim Lawson (Debbie) of Lenoir, N.C.; grandchildren Jennifer Samples (Andy) of Hiltons and Ashley Lawson of Lenoir, N.C.; three sisters Dianne Akers (Steve) and Brenda Fields (Larry) both of Gate City, Cindy Carter (Eddie) of Duffield; one brother Herman K. Spivey (Mavis) of Weber City; sister-in-law Debra Spivey of Burlington, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Floy Dana Lawson of Kingsport; special friends Norma Stapleton, Dottie Davis and Kathy Crawford. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5-7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home with services following at 7 pm with Brother William Lawson officiating and music will be provided by Ben Christian. Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, at Christian Family Cemetery.
