Daughter to Jacob and Nancy Agnes (Richey) Pruet.

Nancy married her first cousin, John Welch Prewitt. She died at the age of 39 soon after her last child Margaret was born. She is buried in the Prewitt Hagler Cemetery next to her husband.

The children of John and Nancy were:

1. Abraham M. Prewitt 1816–1864; m. Miss. Strong 2/11/1838

2. Tabitha T. Prewitt 1817; m. Dr. Terrell 9/26/1833

3. James M. Prewitt 1819–1852; m. "Betsy" Elizabeth Sparks 11/3/1839

4. William M. Prewitt 1821–1825;

5. Martha E. Prewitt 1822–1854; m. B. Woodward 2/8/1838

6. Selina H. Prewitt 1826-1860; m. Austin Woodward 11/3/1829

7. "Nancy" Elizabeth A. Prewitt 1827–1852 or 1882?; m. James A. Thomson 1/5/1843

10. Isaac Lee Prewitt 1831–1890; m. Elizabeth Fears

11. Jacob L. Prewitt b. 1834; m. Margaret Fears. Isaac Lee and his brother Jacob L. applied for their marriage licenses 2/13/1854 and were married to the Fears sisters, daughters of James Fears, in a double wedding ceremony performed by Reubin Dodson, L.M.G. Their children would have been double-first cousins.

12. Elizabeth Susan Prewitt 1836–1871; married first Dr. Eugene Ford, married second Mr. Fears.

13. Margaret Prewitt June 1837 died as a baby. Possible that her mother died in premature childbirth and her daughter, Margaret died shortly afterward and probably buried with her mother.
