Laura Louise Magnus, 85, went to be with her Lord, and join her husband Lindy in heaven, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
She was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Rosalia, Wash., to Hood and Valley "Betty" Worthington. She graduated from Plummer High School in Plummer, Idaho, in 1947.
Laura was united in marriage to Lindy Magnus on May 8, 1948, in Plummer. Together they had six children: Lonnie, Joyce, Nancy, Alan, Martha and Leonard.
In 1959, they moved to Sheridan, Mont. Lindy, Laura and children were the charter members of the Ruby Valley Baptist Church in 1961.
In 1969, they moved to Anaconda where Lindy worked at the Anaconda Co.
After Lindy's retirement in 1988, they returned to Sheridan to make their home.
After Lindy passed on to heaven in 1994, Laura moved to Butte to be closer to family.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Lindy; her parents Hood and Valley "Betty" Worthington; her brother, Bill Worthington; her son, Lonnie Magnus; and grandson, Michael Curran.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce (Delmer) Peterson of Littlefork, Minn., Nancy (Michael) Curran of Butte, Martha (Jim) Lueck of Anaconda; sons and daughter-in-law, Sharon Magnus of Adrian, Mich., Alan (Carrie) Magnus of Clinton, Mont., Leonard (Amora) Magnus of Marengo, Ohio; brother, Hood Worthington, Jr. of Wenatchee, Wash.; sister Mary Lou Reilly of Yuma, Ariz.; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Ruby Valley Baptist Church at Sheridan, with Alan Magnus officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday Aug. 4, at K&L Mortuary Chapel at Sheridan.
Interment will be at the Taylor Cemetery in Alder with Del Peterson officiating.
