Mrs. Mary Jane Cox, 79, of 2752 N. 74th St., Kansas City, Kan., died Sunday at Providence-St. Margaret Health Center. She was a lifelong resident of Wyandotte County. Mrs. Cox was a switchboard operator for the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. for 30 years before she retired in 1960. She was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Bethel. She was an honorary life member of the Communications Workers of America and a member of the ladies' auxiliary of the Bethel Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She leaves a son, Charles Cox, Kansas City, Kan.; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Porter Chapel; burial in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
