John W. Thomas, age 81, passed away, Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Jack was a United States Coast Guard Veteran. He was employed by Apex Oil Company, Forest View, for 25 years retiring in 2003. Member of St. Joseph Church, Lockport. Owner and operator of Lockport Barge Cleaning Company for many years.
He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his adored children Stephen (Chris Johnston), Michael (Toni), James (Evelyn) and John (Jessica) Thomas; cherished grandchildren Janae and Jenna, Maggie and Kelly, James Jr., Barbra and Evan, Gabriella and Johnny and a sister Maureen (Donald) Kubinski. Numerous nephews, nieces and many dear friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife Loretta "Lori" (nee Adams) in 2008, parents Edward and Margaret (nee Murphy), siblings, Marge (Harold) Schehr, Betty (Walt) Munch and Ed (Char) Thomas.
Visitation Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.
Services: Monday, August 4, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel, 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport to St. Joseph Church, Lockport for mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Joliet.
