John Wesley Tripp, 89, of McAlester, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at McAlester Nursing Center. Born January 5, 1925 in Choctaw County to Gene and Elby (Henderson) Tripp, John was raised in the Indianola area and enjoyed working on his small acreage there. He also drove a school bus for Indianola Public Schools. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising crops, goats, chickens, and Chihuahuas. He also enjoyed going to auctions and watching the Three Stooges. He is survived by his children: Bonnie Adams of McAlester, Wesley Tripp and wife, Ann of Indianola, Benny Tripp and wife, Rhonda of Indianola, Lynn Tripp of Crowder, Michael Tripp of Indianola, Donna Smith of Indianola, Steve Tripp and wife, Tamara of Indianola, Patricia Carney and husband, Calvin of Ulan; sister: Louise; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Nancy Faye Tripp, and a son: Vual Ray Tripp. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4 at Indianola Cemetery with Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
