MATTOON -- Chester "Leon" Wright , age 82, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 12:02 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
No services are planned at this time. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cooks Mills, at a later date. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Leon was born on May 4, 1932 in Robinson, IL the son of Chester L. and Thelma (Vandeventer) Wright Sr. He married Jennie Lois Janes on August 27, 1949. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2011.
Survivors include his daughter and son; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Thelma Wright Sr.; wife, Jennie L. Wright; and great grandson, Kaleb Boone.
Leon was a Distributor for Keller Oil Company and retired on May 4, 1977 after 44 years of dedicated service. He was a former member of the Mattoon Eagles and Moose Lodge.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to the Coles County Animal Shelter.
