-Lived to be 115 years old.

-Lived in Radford, Virginia for over 60 years

-Became an evangelist preacher in 1889. "Fire and Brimstone" Style Gospel

-Briefly, took a job at a furniture store in 1904 to make ends meet. "Churches were poor then, mightily poor, and a preacher could hardly make ends meet."

-Went back to preaching and did so for a total of 97 years.

-Preached in every county in Tennessee and Virginia

-Per Aker's retelling:

In 1933, Aker told his sons he was sick and was taken to the hospital for surgery.

"The doctors said I'd passed away. I was rolled into the dead room".

A nurse, who happened to go into the morgue, noticed Aker's eyes moving; he was revived.
