Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, in Park Place Towers Parlor, 1300 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, Texas, with Glen Walton and Bob Crass officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, Amarillo.
Mrs. Howard was born September 4, 1920, in Palo Pinto County, one of seven children born to Ulphin and Coy Tenison Lane. She was raised near McLean and graduated from McLean High School.
After graduating, she attended business school. Jo married William D. Howard on January 1, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2004. She worked most of her life as a secretary and retired from Region 16. Jo was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Mike Howard of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters, Karol Hervey and husband John of Pampa, and Gay Maclaskey and husband James of College Station; a sister, Jeanne Brown of Searcy, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118.
