He was the son of David W. Niedererr of McSherrystown, and Eileen M. (Colgan) Bowling and step-son of G. Patrick Bowling of Gettysburg.
Michael was a student at Lock Haven University and was a 2000 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Noah Niedererr of Hastings; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Regina Colgan of McSherrystown; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Nancy Niedererr of Gettysburg, paternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Niedererr of Hanover; and step-grandparents, Gilbert and Mary Bowling of Hanover.
