Ilness Fatal to Pioneer Man
Paris Express July 30, 1931

D.A. Barnard, aged 70 years, well known pioneer resident, died Wednesday morning, July 29, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.C. Barham, after three weeks illness. Mr. Barnard was born and reared at Paris and has made him home the past few years with his children, returning only recently from California where he had been visiting with the families of his sons and a daughter. Funeral Service was held at the home, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted my Rev. T.J. Bingaman of Ellsworth, Rev. Walker of Prairie View, Rev. Lovette of Chismville. Interment was at Mountain Cemetery near Ratcliff with Jacobs funeral services in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by five sons, Hascal Barnard Fort Smith; F.M. Barnard of Shafter, California; J.A. Barnard of Wasco, California; R.S. Barnard of Wasco, California; R.S. Barnard of Ratcliff and three daughters Mrs. C.F. Barham of Paris; Mrs. W.B. Baggs Wasco, California; Mrs. Elmer Harness of Van Buren
