Ora Staudt was born in Fredericksburg, Texas, on September 25, 1928. She passed away August 3, 2001, after courageously battling a rapidly progressive illness. After living in Austin for 42 years, Ora and Melvin (her husband) returned to Fredericksburg in 1999 for retirement. She will be missed by all of those whose lives she so deeply touched, her family members, her relatives, her countless friends, her adoring pets, and even her numerous plants. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Melvin; daughter, Shirley Keller and husband, Joe; daughter, Patty Rowley and husband John; daughter, Karen and partner, Patricia Sanders; daughter, Cindy Bristow and husband, Jacob; sister, Laura Dietz and husband Marvin; brother, Lanzo Usener and wife, June; brother-in-law, Rueben Gold and wife, Margie; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Gold. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.
